Fireworks in Reverse

All things newBible:
Isaiah 43:19

Discussion starter:
Sometimes seeing things from a different angle, or in this case in reverse, makes it brand new.

The writer of Isaiah says it like this, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” The key word there is “perceive.” Perceive means to become aware of something. In other words, God is always doing new thing. The key is being open enough to see what God is up to in your life. To be aware of what is new and seeing if God is in it.

Whether its a big milestone or a small one, God is always at work in our lives. But often times it’s up to us to, as Isaiah says, “perceive it.”

3 Questions:

  1. Would you rather watch fireworks or snakes hatching in reverse?
  2. Are you someone who perceives things naturally or do you have to work at it?
  3. What’s one thing you’re asking God to do new in your life this year?

Chew on this:
If God is always doing something new then why does the Bible also say there’s nothing new under the sun? (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
