The Golden Rule in Real Life

Video:  (CBS News site, not YouTube)

Luke 6:31

The Golden Rule

Discussion Starter:
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” You’ve probably heard that phrase most of your life. It’s affectionately known as The Golden Rule.

Sometimes we think that representing Jesus in our day-to-day lives has to be difficult or huge. As if it’s limited to feeding the homeless or going on a mission trip. In reality, we can do small things every day that let others know that God loves them.

3 Questions:

  1. Have you ever received an act of kindness that surprised you?
  2. Is it easier for you to give or receive?
  3. What’s a small act of kindness you could do in the next 24 hours for someone else?

Chew on this:
If I’m supposed to practice The Golden Rule all the time, then why is it so much fun to think about getting revenge?
