Recently an American preacher was ministering in Uganda. After preaching from the word of God the pastor of the large Ugandan church encouraged the people. He said, “Those who want healing line up in the front. If you have 20,000 shillings to give line up here. If you have 30,000 shillings line up here. If you have a great amount to give and need a great miracle line up here.”
In disgust one lady left the meeting. She said, “I thought the things and power of God were to be freely given, why is this pastor taking from the people when they have so little? Yes he is getting richer, but the people are getting poorer.”
Jesus tell us that, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (Jn 3:16) It does not say that God loved us so that He charged the people, rather He gave to the people. It is unfortunate that when God is so willing to give us life, that few people are willing to receive it.
Take a moment to thank God for the blessings that He has freely given to you.
